Naturally, you do not choose a travel or vacation destination based on the quality of the airport you arrive to. However, it is definitely interesting to know which are the greatest airports from a the viewpoint of cleanliness, comfort, entertainment and more.

The below five are the best airports in Asia, all have excellent facilities where waiting between two flights is a real pleasure for anyone, so if you happen to be traveling to the area and you have the possibility, fly to one of them and see for yourself what an actual airport with more than amazing services can offer to the tired traveler.

The best airport in Asia has got a traffic of 51.1 million passengers in a year and it is a place where a long layover will actually make you happy. Changi Airport is designed for the relaxation of passengers and it does a damn good job.

There are lots of green spots at the airport with trees and other plants, the place has got an outdoor pool and an actual butterfly garden, not even mentioning the movie theater and spa… Cool, hah?

Inchean International Airport, Seoul (ICN)

The folks in South Korea surely know something about comfort. Inchean Airport is served by over 70 airlines which alone would not be a huge deal, but it also has got 5 stars according to Skytrax’s rating, thus being one of the 3 airports to receive such high rate (the other 2 are Hong Kong and Changi airports).

It has got a museum of Korean culture which is a great time to spend layover time. The airport is also known to be excessively clean and comfortable.

As one of the busiest airports in the world, Hong Kong Intl. Airport (also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport) serves over 56 million travelers in a year. It has excellent leisure amenities – with a nine hole golf course among them, as well as great shopping and dining option.

Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)

After Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, Beijing Capital Intl. Airport is the second busiest in the world with its 81 million passengers per year. Beside being one of the top 5 best airports in Asia, the airport owns several other awards. Its Terminal 3 became one of the best airport terminals in the world and the airport itself provides one of the best baggage delivery service.

The last one on our top 5 list, Tokyo International Airport will be expanded with several new gates, a hotel and more parking places by 2014. The airport which is also known as Haneda Airport or Tokyo Haneda Airport became the best domestic airport, won the award for best airport terminal cleanliness and was the most punctual airport 2 years in a row.
